Harbors are ice free and anglers are starting to catch browns, lake trout, whitefish, and a few perch along the Thumb area. Minnows are best for the whitefish and perch and spoons are working best for the trout. There are also scattered reports of suckers being caught in rivers on crawlers.  Action should pick up as the weather warms.
